Majorca (Spanish and Catalan: Mallorca) is the largest island of Spain. It is located in the Mediterranean Sea and part of the Balearic Islands archipelago. The name derives from Latin insula maior, "larger island"; later Maiorica. The capital of the island, Palma, is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The Cabrera archipelago is administratively grouped with Majorca (in the municipality of Palma). The anthem of Majorca is La Balanguera.
Majorca has two mountainous regions each about 70 km in length. These occupy the north-western (Serra de Tramuntana or Tramuntana range) and eastern thirds of the island. The highest peak on Majorca is Puig Major (1,445 m) in the Serra de Tramuntana. As this is a military zone, the neighbouring peak at Puig de Massanella is considered the highest accessible peak (1,364 m). The northeast coast comprises two sweeping bays: the Badia de Pollença and the larger Badia d'Alcúdia. The northern coast is generally rugged and has many cliffs. The central zone extending from Palma is generally flat fertile plain known as Es Pla. k) The climate is Mediterranean, with markedly higher precipitation in the Serra de Tramuntana. Summers are hot in the plains and winters mild to cool, getting colder in the Tramuntana range; in this part of the island brief episodes of snow during the winter are not unusual. The island is surrounded by two uninhabited small islands: Cabrera (southeast of Palma) and Dragonera (west of Palma). Source WIKIPEDIA We are all aware of the amount of sun and beach hotels and resorts there are in Majorca. Nevertheless, there are many people that admit their surprise to the natural beauty of the island. Below you will find our general recommendations, but we will explain to you first hand once you are here! Recommendations
TOWNS
In order to discover the real Mallorca, one must walk through its most traditional towns and experience its customs and traditions. Within the Tramontana mountain range are some of Mallorca’s prettiest villages, such as Esporles, Valldemossa, Deia, Buñola, Soller, Fornalutx, Puigpunyent, Banyalbufar, Santa Maria, Lluc, there is a long list.

Without doubt, Mallorca is a paradise for excursionists of all levels. Some of the most popular are Es Torrent de Pareix (Escorca), Castillo de Alaro (with a must stop to eat at Es Verger restaurant) and the Route of the Archiduque in Valldemossa. There are also other organised excursions and visits, such as the Caves of Arta, the Olive Oil Route, the island of Cabrera, the natural park of Galatzo, the Alfabia gardens, and the botanic garden of Soller. At the hotel we offer extensive information of the island.
WINE CELLARS
Mallorca has been producing wine since the Roman time and has their own varieties of grapes, such asmanto negro, malvasia, moll o prensal blanc. The Mallorcan wines are known today for their quality and the number of awards received is the proof. Well known wine cellers are Vins Nadal, Es Verger, José Luís Ferrer, Castell Miquel, Macia Batle, Antonio Nadal, Binigual y Son Prim. Our personal favorites are Vins Nadal, Es Verger in Esporles, Castell Miquel in Alaro and C`an Majoral in Algaida.
